Oh Christmas

Well we made it through the mad-dash gift-giving of Christmas! It was a blessed weekend/week and we are so Thankful for our family and friends that we got to share the holiday with. I can't BELIEVE the amount of money spent just in our family alone on gifts for one another on Christmas. Can you imagine how much money is spent in the US during the month of December? I bet I would be floored at the number of dollars. Anyhow through all of this I hope that all of you were able to spend sometime as a family focusing on the true reason we celebrate Christmas, may we all glory and honor to our Lord and Savior this CHRISTmas season!

Merry Christmas from our family to yours!

Target

One of my favorite stores to shop in is letting me down. I recently ordered a Big-Girl car seat for my one year old last month from Target.com; yesterday I decided that I was going to cancel my order and just go pick the car seat up from the store. I had been waiting 5 weeks for this product to send but it had yet to be shipped. The lady at the stock yard told me they were out and wouldn't have my order shipped until after the first of the year. 2 months after I had ordered the product....ugh! My daughter was growing foot over foot out of her old seat so I figured it was time to do something about it. Thankfully they finally got a shipment of the seats into the store. They had not had them in stock at the store for several months!
All in all I am thankful we have the seat now, it is monster huge and makes my daughter look like a little mini-me sitting in it. Rest assured that she now fits and will be safe when traveling which is all that matters.
Isn't she a beauty?!

Scrappy

Oh how excited I am to hear that word! I absolutely love to scrapbook! I started about 6 years ago and I have began to learn my style since then and have became so much more creative! There is tremendously more out there now to scrap with verses what was out when I first started. I believe it is my new passion. I think if I could have any job in the world it would be creating my own scrapbooking line. Have you seen the Love elsie Christmas line? Oh its FUN! and very much the creativity of elsie! There are many scrap artist and companies that I just love their work! So there you have it... my little quirk about scrapbooking! :)

Little People

Yes I am referring to the Fisher Price Little People! I love these little toys. I have fond memories of growing up and playing with these throughout my childhood. Now I am looking forward to getting a set for my daughter so that maybe she will be able to share in some of the same memories I have. As I look at all that is out there, I realize it is so much more than I ever had or that was out when I was a kid. Thank goodness they have also made them a little larger so that they are no longer a choke hazzard! :) With technology they are now more advanced not only are the people themselves more detailed but just about everything makes a sound! Fun for kids I suppose but what has happened to toys without sound that you use your imagination and make your own sounds as you play? Wasn't that half the fun to make the sounds? Like the sound of a telephone ringing or the cow moo-ing. Not for the next generation, its already installed. This is just my little rant about these cute little people!

Life with a one year old

Okay so my life may not be quite as hectic as a mother with a toddling one year old. My daughter is not walking yet, some will shutter when they hear that yet others sigh and tell me not to be in any big hurry. I have had her checked and there is nothing wrong with her development. That being said I feel fortunate that she is not up running around and trying to tear everything in sight apart. God knows what I can handle and obviously it isn't a walking one yet! Although as cute as a button, this week she is learning that she can scream and scream she does, sometimes it is funny but most of the time I'm saying "No, No!" we went through this stage about 6 months ago and it only lasted a few days, I hope this time we are as fortunate. She is also dealing with a little bit of a nasal cold, which means sleepless nights, congestion, and runny noses. Boy do I look forward to summer and the warm air!
